OpenSatCom - Survey

A survey to better understand European Satcom ecosystem's involvement with Open Source Software & Hardware

This survey is part of OpenSatCom (https://opensatcom.org/), a European Space Agency activity implemented by the Libre Space Foundation in collaboration with Inno³. The first part of this activity resulted in a report about “Open Source Development Models in Satellite Communications” and the second part will hold a variety of subactivies, like a constellation designer/definition on Orekit/Poliastro.

The present survey aims at assessing the current adoption of Open Source Software & Hardware  by various players in the European Satcom field: industrial, academic and institutional. It will provide insight regarding (1) their maturity level with regards to various Open Source models, (2) their level of involvement with Open Source projects, (3) their relations with specific Open Source  structures like foundations, but also their strategy in this space, and their expectation regarding ESA’s position in this domain.

This survey will close on 2021/05/15
